floor panel setting on trailer

The double-wall floor panels are typically produced in both 10-inch and 12-inch thick sections. The most common thickness specified is the 10-inch thickness. Spans approaching 30 feet in length can be achieved with the double-wall floor panel system. The bottom wythe of the double-wall floor panel is pre-stressed to achieve the span length and surface quality. The unique manufacturing process is what differentiates the double-wall floor from the typical hollow-core floor. Because double-wall floors are form finished on both sides at the plant, the floor panels are drywall smooth on each side. No additional toppings are needed on the floor surface and the ceiling does not have that roughened, popcorn spray appearance.

The floor panels are usually manufactured with radiant floor tubing placed in the upper wythe to take full advantage of the energy-efficiency and comfort that this method of heating provides the homeowner. Block outs for chase ways are easily installed during the fabrication process. Insulating foam can be installed in the floor cavity between wythes if the client desires to insulate in that manner. Boxes needed for smoke detectors and lighting are installed in the ceiling and outlet boxes can be installed in the floor at the factory. Joints between floor panels are grouted together at the seams and at the perimeter to insure a smooth, level surface, for the entire floor area.
